Rage Reviews

Origin: 24/25

They kept true to the John Wick formula and managed to add more interesting world building details. We get to find out about the table more, and learn about how the system works. The character remained interesting and the locations were intriguing and had lots to offer. You missed some of the cool details because the pace was fast quite a lot of the time.

Story: 24/25

Holy Moly… This was another epic instalment to the franchise. Somehow they made a good narrative through all the blood shed. What I liked most was that within the seriousness, there was moments of humour that made it even better, they used slight pauses in-between fighting to make the comic relief work. I enjoyed the film from start to finish. What each film does so well is to show the struggle of a fight, because punch ups like these aren’t as easy as the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows them. Every thrust and kick is powerful and makes even the audience feel tired, it allows for dirty and rough fighting, the imperfections is what makes a good fight.

Camera/SFX: 24/25

Great use of angles in tight fight scenes, you could literally see every kick and punch. The effects were good, they made the bike chase scene better, it made me feel very tense. The lighting for most scenes were dark, which made it tense to watch, there was good contrast.

Performance: 24/25

Keanu Reeves gives us 100% once again, he has fully bodied the character and made it into a global icon. They made great chemistry with Halle Berry and Keanu, even in action sequences they had great character interactions. Their personalities worked very well and made scenes enjoyable to watch. Mark Dacascos is the surprise appearance that created some great action scenes as well as comic relief. His squad were like ninjas with big egos and that was a perfect match for John Wick.
